Practice renovations are finished and we are back home in Watson, bigger and better! We look forward to sharing it with you :)
Over coming weeks, we’ll put the finishing touches to the landscaping. For updates, keep an eye on our Facebook or Instagram page.
We have more space so are opening up more GP appointments, and our online services (HotDoc Routine Requests and bookings) are always open. If unable to reach us by phone during business hours (Ph. 6248 7005), you can contact us via e-mail at reception@wgp.net.au. If you have a clinical concern or question, please make an appointment.
Busy through the week but need to see a GP? Why not book in for a Saturday or Sunday consultation. Our Routine Request service through HotDoc is another way to get routine scripts and referrals renewed anytime, outside of a formal appointment.
Telehealth appointments save time and keep infectious illnesses from spreading, but face to face is best for comprehensive, high-quality care. If you are unwell when visiting in person, please put on a mask when you come in (supplied at reception).
MyMedicare registration aims to improve long-term health outcomes by aligning patients with their regular doctor.
Regular patients should register with their usual GP to access all available Medicare benefits such as telehealth, Chronic Condition Management Plans and Mental Health Treatment Plans. Self-register using MyGov or the Medicare ExpressPlus phone app, or speak to Reception for help.
Flu vaccines are free to patients aged <5, 65+, or adults with a chronic health condition (eg asthma or diabetes). For everyone else, private flu shots are only $25 from our nurse.
We also have the latest COVID-19 boosters. These are recommended every 6 months for those aged 75+ and annually if aged 65+. Adults aged 18+ can get an optional annual booster anytime. Ask reception or our nurse when you check in.
All doctors at WGP are independent practitioners who privately bill their patients. We pride ourselves on high-quality care. Our doctor’s books are currently closed but you are welcome to join our waiting list - we will contact you when any doctors open to new patients. Stay tuned for more doctors too!
Due to the need to maintain practice viability, billing policy cannot change to universal bulk billing. New bulk-billed patients cannot be accepted until government policies change to boost patient rebates and properly support primary care funding. Fees need to be adjusted periodically to cover inflation and will also increase if our independent GPs become subject to Payroll Tax in the ACT.
